Nicolas Chaillan is a French-American entrepreneur, technologist, and former U.S. government executive who served as the first Chief Software Officer of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force. In that role, he drove digital transformation and DevSecOps adoption across the Department of Defense.

A self-taught programmer who started coding at age 15 in Marseille, France, Nicolas has founded 13 companies and shipped over 180 products spanning cybersecurity, AI, and defense technology. He built Ask Sage — an AI platform purpose-built for the defense and intelligence community — and successfully sold the company.

Nicolas is the author of Replacement (forthcoming), a book on how AI is transforming the economy and eliminating entire professions. He is a frequent commentator on AI policy, national security, cybersecurity, and the future of work, with appearances on Fox News and other major outlets.
