There you have it! Three stories this week. Same story.

Snap fires 1,000 people — 16% of the entire company — and tells the world it is because of AI. Stock JUMPS 8%. Wall Street literally cheers the replacement.

Anthropic drops Claude Opus 4.7. 87.6% on SWE-bench Verified. 94.2% on GPQA. Best model on the planet. The third frontier jump in ONE month.

Google is in talks to deploy Gemini on DoW sensitive networks — because Emil Michael banned Anthropic, the most deployed frontier model on government networks. Hopefully the meeting with Anthropic CEO and the White House fixes that, assuming #Incompetent Emil does not show to ruin it.

One man with ZERO AI expertise, ZERO software background, and a personal grudge just handed the Pentagon over to a single vendor. Picked by DC politics. Not by the warfighter. Not by capability. Not by security. By one guy's ego.

Meanwhile Snap's CEO replaced a thousand humans in a single quarter and got rewarded with an 8% bump.

Commercial America is running.
The Department of War is crawling.
China is sprinting.

Let me be crystal clear — this isn't about which model is better. This is about model-agnostic strategy, the thing I have been screaming about for 6 years. You lock into one vendor, you lose. You pick vendors by who somebody hates, you lose BIGGER. And the warfighter — my warfighter — pays the price every single time.

Opus 4.7 isn't a tool. It is a REPLACEMENT engine. If your job lives in a spreadsheet, a codebase, a deck, or a research doc — you've been put on notice.

If you have kids — this should terrify you. It terrifies me.

My book "Replacement" drops end of July. This is exactly what it is about.
Fire Emil Michael. Before he finishes the job.
