China Threat AI Cybersecurity Workforce
There you have it! Nvidia reports Q1 FY2027 earnings after the bell today. Wall Street expects $79 BILLION in revenue. That's 80% year-over-year growth. The AI buildout isn't slowing — it's accelerating.
And on the EXACT SAME DAY — Alibaba unveils the Zhenwu M890 AI chip. Three times faster than its predecessor. Purpose-built for AI agents. With a multi-year roadmap: V900 in 2027, J900 in 2028 — each another 3x jump.
Read that again.
Alibaba didn't panic-buy a chip. They built one. Then mapped out the next two generations through 2028. T-Head — their semiconductor subsidiary — has already shipped 560,000 Zhenwu units to 400+ customers across 20 industries.
And here's what nobody wants to say out loud: the U.S. export controls ACCELERATED this.
When Washington banned H20 chip sales to China in April 2025, Nvidia took a $4.5 billion inventory charge. China was generating $17.1 billion in annual GPU sales before the restrictions. That revenue didn't disappear — it got redirected into domestic alternatives.
Alibaba just pledged $53 BILLION on cloud and AI infrastructure over three years. Huawei dropped its own chip roadmap last year. Baidu, Tencent, ByteDance — all building silicon.
We didn't contain China's AI ambitions. We funded them.
Jensen Huang will crush earnings tonight. Nobody doubts that. But the real story isn't Nvidia's quarter — it's that China is no longer buying what Nvidia's selling. They're building their own stack. From chips to models to cloud. And they're doing it faster than Washington expected.
I've been warning about this for years. Export controls without a domestic acceleration strategy don't work. You can't just cut off supply and expect the world's second-largest economy to sit there and wait. They don't wait. They build.
This is Chapter 4 of what's coming. My book REPLACEMENT covers exactly how China's speed advantage changes the math on everything — jobs, security, economic dominance. Out around end of July.
