There you have it! NASA's own Inspector General just confirmed it in writing: Boeing's Starliner is essentially a DECADE late, and certification to fly astronauts is now unlikely before 2027.

Let me put the timeline in front of you.

Starliner was supposed to be carrying crew to the Space Station in 2017. It is July 2026. Boeing has still not flown a single operational crew mission. Not one.

Meanwhile, NASA awarded Boeing AND SpaceX the same kind of contracts back in 2014. SpaceX's Crew Dragon has been flying operational crew rotations since 2020. Same starting line, same mission, same funding structure. One company delivered six years ago. The other is still chasing helium leaks, overheating thrusters, and parachute problems the IG says "remain a risk."

And here is the part that should make every taxpayer furious.

In 2024, Boeing's capsule carried Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams up for what was supposed to be an eight-day trip. They stayed nine months. NASA decided Starliner wasn't safe enough to bring them home. So who brought our astronauts back? SpaceX. On a Crew Dragon.

Boeing stranded the crew. SpaceX went and got them.

The Inspector General's own diagnosis: "overconfidence," "an unachievable schedule," and limited data. Roughly 100 anomalies logged on that flight, and two years later they still can't close the critical ones.

So I have to ask the question nobody in Washington wants to answer out loud. Why are we still writing checks to companies that are ten years behind, when we have an American company delivering the exact same capability on time and often under budget?

This is what good money after bad looks like. Billions poured into a program that may never fly an operational crew mission before the Station it was built to serve retires in 2030.

We do not reward failure by funding more of it. We reward the people who actually deliver.

I built UnbiasedHeadlines.com to cover stories like this one straight, no spin, both sides, so you can see who is winning and who is coasting on a brand name.

Reward delivery. Stop subsidizing decline.
