AI Workforce
There you have it! Meta just rolled out the "Model Capability Initiative" — capturing every mouse movement, every click, every keystroke, every screen snapshot from its own employees.
The purpose? Train AI to do their jobs.
The next step? Fire them.
Meta announced 10% layoffs in the same breath.
Andrew Bosworth, CTO, in an internal memo: "our agents primarily do the work."
Read that again.
The workers are training their replacements. Unknowingly. In real time. One keystroke at a time.
This is not a 2030 forecast. This is 2026. Already shipped. Already logging.
I wrote a chapter on this in Replacement — employees turned into unwitting labeling workforces for the models designed to erase them. The book hasn't dropped and the headline already beat it to print.
Every company watching Meta is taking notes. Spyware rebranded as "productivity telemetry." Mass firings rebranded as "efficiency." Your clicks. Your emails. Your screen. All of it becomes the training set.
If you are sitting at a Big Tech desk and your employer just rolled out an "AI productivity pilot" — read the fine print.
You are the dataset.
Replacement — out around end of July.
