There you have it. Hackers just stole 450 internal repositories from Mistral AI — and they're selling the entire thing for $25,000.
$25,000. For a company that raised over €1 billion. You can't make this up.
The group — TeamPCP — exploited a supply chain attack called Mini Shai-Hulud that poisoned hundreds of npm and PyPI packages. They chained three vulnerabilities in TanStack's GitHub workflows: a misconfigured pull_request_target, GitHub Actions cache poisoning, and stolen OIDC tokens from runner memory.
The worst part? The malicious packages carried valid SLSA provenance attestations, valid Sigstore signatures, and legitimate GitHub Actions credentials. Developers who followed every security best practice — verified signatures, checked provenance — still got burned.
Mistral wasn't even the only victim. OpenAI confirmed two of its employees had systems compromised, exposing access to internal source code repositories.
