Here's the joke that actually writes itself. Grok 4.5 launched in early July. Grok 4.6 was already in final training two weeks later, aimed straight at Moonshot AI's Kimi K3. Grok 4.7 is teased on the roadmap before 4.6 has even shipped.
Three frontier models. Under two months. From the one guy who cannot sit still for five minutes.
I don't think Musk sat down and read REPLACEMENT any more than Trump did. But if he did carve out ninety seconds, I'd bet the reason is the same reason he's shipping a new model every few weeks: he knows exactly what happens to whoever stops moving first.
