There you have it! Even Dario Amodei took the time to read my book.
Obviously, that never happened. I made this in 60 seconds with an AI image model, a laptop, and the real cover of REPLACEMENT — the same way I made the Trump one. No photo shoot. No PR team. No fact-checker on retainer.
Here's the part that actually matters. The Department of War handed Anthropic a $200 million contract to bring Claude onto classified military networks. Then the Pentagon wanted "any lawful use" out of that deal — including mass surveillance and fully autonomous weapons. Amodei said no.
So they terminated the contract. In March, the Trump Administration formally labeled Anthropic a national-security "supply chain risk," which is government-speak for a blacklist. Every federal agency was ordered to rip Anthropic out within six months. Treasury, State, HHS, GSA — all pulling the plug.
Anthropic sued. A federal judge granted an injunction. The fight isn't over.
A frontier AI lab said no to autonomous weapons and got blacklisted for it. Read that again.
I've spent my career building AI for the government, inside the Pentagon and out. I know exactly how hard it is to hold a line like that once the money is on the table. Whatever you think of Anthropic's politics, that's not nothing.
