There you have it! #DeepSeek just dropped its new flagship model — and it runs on Huawei chips. Not Nvidia. Not AMD. Huawei.
China just declared chip independence. Live. On the record.
Remember the export controls? The ones that were supposed to choke Chinese AI? They did the opposite.
Every chip we sold them bought time. Every chip we blocked forced them to build their own. Now they don't need ours.
And here is the kicker — same week the State Department had to issue a GLOBAL warning that DeepSeek and other Chinese firms are allegedly stealing what they cannot replicate.
Build domestically. Steal the rest. That is the playbook. It is working.
I have been warning about this for years. I walked those halls. I watched our policy people congratulate themselves for "containing" Huawei while Huawei was quietly shipping the stack that just trained a frontier model.
We did not slow China down. We funded their autonomy.
Meanwhile our own labs are begging for power, water, and permits while DOGE-flavored chaos guts the very offices that were supposed to enforce export rules. Brilliant.
Wake up to the math:
— DeepSeek + Huawei = sovereign AI stack.
— Sovereign AI stack + industrial espionage = compounding lead.
— Compounding lead + 1.4 billion people + state coordination = game over for whoever sleeps through the next 18 months.
