There you have it! Dario Amodei, the CEO of Anthropic, just admitted on camera what I have been screaming about for two years.
High GDP growth and high unemployment at the same time. 5 to 10% growth with 10% of people out of work. He says it has almost never happened in economic history, and he is right.
So why is it happening now?
Because for the first time the machine producing the growth no longer needs the human producing the labor. Every past technology eventually created new jobs after it killed the old ones.
