There you have it. An American "journalist" just got two years in federal prison for secretly working as an agent of the Chinese government.

His name is Thomas Pauken II. Sixteen years inside Chinese state media, most recently an editor at Xinhua. He wrote under a pen name so his family name wouldn't be attached to the work. A handler tied to China's Ministry of State Security paid him over $100,000. He tried to recruit a Trump administration official. He stood in a Virginia courtroom and admitted, "I learned a lot of secrets and I did tell the Chinese about these secrets."
The byline said journalist. The paycheck said Beijing.
And that is exactly why I built Unbiased Headlines.
